Jeju is a volcanic island formed through ages of volcanic activity. Recognized for its unique volcanic landscape and biodiversity, the entire island and its lava tubes were designated a UNESCO World Heritage. It boasts an unrivaled natural scenery created by more than 360 oreum (parasitic cones created through eruptions of the Hallasan Mountain) and the Jeju Olle Trail. In addition to the natural beauty, there are also many uniquely-themed parks, resorts, museums and other fun and interesting tourist attractions. Cozy cafés, restaurants and small shops scattered throughout the island also attract many tourists to this beautiful island.
